The OWOT event aims to showcase innovative approaches and technological advances developed by CSIR laboratories focused on each of the eight CSIR themes. The roadmap and activities of each theme focus on significant contributions to public, private, strategic and societal benefits.

The vertical thematic areas in this theme are hydrogen, batteries (and other energy storage technologies), alternative fuels (with a focus on biofuels), solar and wind energy (with a focus on silicon-free and offshore technologies). Many CSIR laboratories participate in various research and development programs on this topic.

The EED theme OWOT campaign was launched on June 24 at CSIR-NCL Pune. The themed week-long activities showcased innovative approaches and technological advancements in CSIR laboratories and included various activities such as technical sessions, outreach programs, exhibitions and media interactions. Participants include professionals from CSIR laboratories, academic institutes, enterprises, start-ups and students.

The ceremonial farewell ceremony, which took place today at CSIR-IIP, was the summary of an intense week of discussions, knowledge sharing and joint search for innovative solutions to pressing problems in energy and energy equipment.

Dr. HS Bisht, Director, CSIR-IIP welcomed the guests and participants. He highlighted the energy-saving technologies recently developed and successfully commercialized by CSIR-IIP.

Dr. Ashish Lele, Director, CSIR-NCL and Thematic Director of the EED Theme, summarized the challenging research activities undertaken by various CSIR laboratories under the EED Theme, which has been divided into five verticals.
