The data center sector in Malaysia continues to grow

KUALA LUMPUR (June 30): In the July 1 issue City and countryWe are looking at the growing data center business in Malaysia for several key reasons, as highlighted by real estate experts familiar with the progress of this emerging sector.

In addition to its good location and strong infrastructure, experts point to government support and policies aimed at attracting data center operators to set up shop in Malaysia. These include the Malaysia Digital Economy Blueprint (MyDigital), the National Digital Network (Jendela), the Fourth Industrial Revolution National Policy, the DE Rantau Program (under the Malaysia Digital Economy Corporation) and the Digital Ecosystem Acceleration Program (Desac).

Currently, most data centers in the country are located in Cyberjaya, Selangor, but some believe that Sedenak Tech Park in Johor may be the leader in the coming years.
