Gilead’s earnings and revenues beat in the third quarter

Investing.com – Gilead reported third-quarter financial results on Thursday that topped analyst expectations, with revenue topping forecasts.

The company reported earnings per share of $1.84 on revenue of $5.6 billion. Analysts polled by Investing.com forecast EPS of $1.62 on revenue of $5.37 billion. This compares to EPS of $2.27 on revenue of $6.51 billion in the same period a year earlier. The company reported EPS of $1.91 on revenue of $5.65 billion in the year-ago quarter.

Gilead shares gained 1.43% to trade at $69.60 following the report.

Gilead shares are down 4.95% for the year, underperforming the Nasdaq which is up 5.49% year to date.

On October 16, J&J (NYSE:JNJ) reported third-quarter EPS of $2.05 on revenue of $20.35 billion, compared to the consensus estimate of EPS of $2.03 on revenue of $20.04 billion.

Novartis ADR earnings exceeded analyst expectations on October 18, with third-quarter earnings per share of $1.32 on revenue of $12.78 billion. Analysts at Investing.com expected earnings of $1.31 per share on revenue of $12.98 billion
