Kitchen gadget guy Fieri presents the dinner, inn and dive lineup

Guy Fieri’s ongoing journey through Triple D Nation gave viewers a taste of what it’s like to dine at restaurants that hold true gems. As the cameras start rolling, the wheels of Fieri’s famous red Camaro slowly come to a stop – a sign that you have reached your exciting new destination in Flavortown. After transforming the restaurant’s kitchen into a filming location, the featured chef can now work his magic in the presence of Fieri himself.

On the set of Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives, we saw chefs breaking out some pretty cool kitchen gadgets that blew Fieri’s mind away. Believe it or not, these helpful tools are very important to Fieri, who once landed a pilot for a Food Network show about kitchen gadgets called “Gotta Get It.” During a segment on NBC’s “Today” show, Fieri mentioned several of the kitchen tools he uses. But none mean more to him than his juicer, which he brings to the set of every episode of “Diners, Drive-ins, and Dives.”

Guy Fieri’s obsession with juicing has finally fessed up – and it’s about time! In an interview with Kat Kinsman of Yahoo! Fieri revealed all the juicy details. “When I’m on tour, whenever I’m in the studio, I have a juicer on set and I have about 10 different recipes that my boys use,” Fieri says. He sticks to 16 ounces of vegetable juice and doesn’t particularly like fruit, except for apples, which he uses as a sweetener. His favorite vegetables are usually kale, parsley and beets.

Fieri’s juicing has even taken a toll on his family, who now juicing just like him. Fieri claims that when his wife was pregnant with their first son, she drank juice throughout her pregnancy. Fieri believes this is what kept their son from getting sick, saying, “As far as I know, my oldest son has never had a cold.”

For those of you who feel the same need to juice as Fieri does, here are a few great ways to get started in your kitchen. Make sure you have some beets (Fieri loves to use a lot of them), apples, parsley, and Fieri’s favorite veggie, kale. Simply chop up the apples and beets and throw them into your juicer—or blender if you don’t have a juicer—along with the kale and parsley. A good mix will make them smooth and creamy, ready to drink, and packed with nutrients. You can even add a little banana for a little sweetness.

Just make sure you drink it fast! According to Fieri, “You have to juice it and drink it right away to get the real enzymes.” Enzyme activity naturally slows down as a drink sits, so you want to get the juices into your system as quickly as possible—this helps absorb the nutrients better.
