Generating an average of 3,200 kWh per day and reducing carbon dioxide emissions by an estimated 650 tonnes per year, BAT Nigeria’s solar initiative directly contributes to the country’s cleaner energy and emissions reduction goals. This forward-thinking approach not only benefits the environment by promoting cleaner air and fighting climate change, but also strengthens BAT Nigeria’s position as a responsible corporate citizen in Nigeria.

BAT Nigeria has significantly reduced its dependence on conventional energy sources such as fossil fuels, which has led to reduced operating costs and improved energy efficiency. The power of the solar power plant was specified in detail in accordance with the BAT photovoltaic (PV) standard, including Tier-1 solar panels (Jinko) and inverters (SMA). This development is in line with BAT Nigeria’s recent pledge to achieve zero waste to landfill and 100% recycling rate for all factory waste.
