A look back at Nazara’s acquisition of Sportskeeda and a look at their future

Nazara, which was already working with Sportskeeda in a content syndication venture, bought a 67% stake in the sports website in 2019, valuing the company at INR 44 crore ($52.78 thousand). This acquisition provided an accelerated exit for SeedFund, an early investor in Sportskeeda. This year, the company highlighted that its latest investment will add nearly 25 million monthly active users (MAUs) to the network, a green signal for what’s to come.

Fast forward five years, Nazara and Sportskeeda have significantly expanded their presence by making significant investments in various markets. Nazara reported that FY24 was a foundational year as it announced revenue growth of 4.3% along with EBITDA growth of 16.5%. The company also completed its largest fundraising to date, raising INR 950 Crore (USD 114 Mn), which is its largest fundraising to date, along with its subsidiaries, including Sportskeeda.
