How TD Synnex MSP Evolve aims to develop partners

Over the past few years, large technology companies and distributors have been paying more attention to managed service providers. This may be because they realize that many different channel partners are managing their service revenue streams. This may be because the MSP market continues to grow. It’s no surprise that more and more vendor and distributor programs are emerging that are designed to serve the specific needs of MSPs. TD Synnex launched its MSP Evolve program in May to help MSPs grow.

According to TD Synnex’s 2023 MSP Technology Direction Special Report, 80% of MSPs are focused on growing their business by expanding their technology and solution offerings, especially in high-growth technologies such as cloud, security, data analytics, and artificial intelligence, and entering new industry verticals.

The MSP Evolve program aggregates TD Synnex resources and tools and uses them to accelerate MSP business growth. The program is currently available to North American SMEs.

MSP Evolve was developed based on feedback from MSPs who wanted to take advantage of the resources available in TD Synnex but didn’t know where to start, said Meredith Payne, senior director of cloud at TD Synnex.

TruMethods launches peer group for small SMEs

What do successful managed service providers (MSPs) do that the rest of the pack doesn’t? There are many best practices to choose from, but it can be difficult to know and prioritize the most important ones.

This question is likely even more important for new and small SMBs – those with one to five employees. According to TruMethods founder Gary Pic, these MSPs make up 70% to 80% of the market.

One thing many successful SMEs have in common is that they belong to a peer group.

Now TruMethods, the organization founded by industry icon Gary Pica and subsequently acquired by IT Glue from Kaseya, is introducing a version of its group organization specifically tailored to the needs of the newest and smallest SMBs.

For SMEs, effective cybersecurity must include data management

While many MSPs are just beginning to explore cybersecurity business opportunities, the need for data management has been an issue that has existed for years, if not decades.

“Data management has always been a focus since systems and applications became commonplace to help organizations run their businesses,” David Washo, client partner at digital transformation consulting firm AHEAD, told ChannelE2E. “Whether organizations knew at the time to call it ‘data governance,’ information governance, or data management, organizations have always known that taking care of their data is an integral part of doing business.”

Effective data management is a key part of a comprehensive cybersecurity strategy. It ensures the consistency and reliability of data and prevents its misuse. This is increasingly important as organizations face expanding data privacy regulations and increasingly rely on data analytics to help optimize operations and support business decision-making.

Data governance is a key part of an overall data management strategy. However, for a governance program to be successful, organizations must focus on the expected business benefits of the governance program. Washo said that recently, with the rise of artificial intelligence and more sophisticated tools and technologies, there has been a renewed interest in data governance capabilities.

Fulcrum IT’s M&A Approach: MSPs Maintain Brand and Operational Independence

The managed services provider (MSP) sector is undergoing rapid consolidation, driven by both private equity investment and acquisitions by industry players. The appeal of recurring revenue models and the continued demand for advanced IT solutions are keeping mergers and acquisitions high. As a result, a number of platform MSPs have emerged, each pursuing unique strategies to expand their services and geographic reach.

In this week’s ChannelE2E series, we take a look at how managed service providers (MSPs) are expanding their services, broadening their geographic reach, growing their talent pool, and increasing their bottom line through strategic acquisitions.

In this competitive market, Fulcrum IT stands out with a unique approach to acquisitions that emphasizes long-term partnerships, strategic alignment and co-innovation.
Unlike some competitors, Fulcrum IT allows the companies it acquires to maintain their brand and operational independence. This method fosters an environment where innovation and expansion are key, according to company executives.
