Huawei succeeds where Microsoft failed – HarmonyOS is already available on almost a billion devices, and China’s largest mobile phone maker has completely eliminated Android

While Microsoft’s foray into the smartphone operating system market ultimately failed, Huawei’s HarmonyOS proved to be a huge success and a true rival to Android and iOS, at least in its home country.

The operating system is on more than 900 million devices in China and is growing rapidly. It is currently based on Android, but Huawei has taken steps to change that.
