Panel discussion on the possibilities of e-commerce in organic products

To highlight the future of e-commerce in the organic produce industry and how producers can capitalize on growth opportunities to maximize sales, the Organic Produce Summit is announcing a new session –Status of e-commerce product salesThe OPS event, which will be held July 10-11 at the Monterey Conference Center, will bring together more than 175 organic growers, shippers and processors from all sectors of the company.

The e-commerce session will be moderated by Ryan Mulvany, e-commerce advisor and investor, and will feature Andrew McGregor, senior director of ag products at Misfits Market, and Roger Brady, purchasing and category manager for ag and flowers at Good Eggs.

This panel will delve into the e-commerce opportunity for the produce industry, covering current successes and areas for improvement, including recent trends in direct-to-consumer retail. In 2023, organic produce sales in the U.S. are expected to exceed $9.6 billion, underscoring growing consumer demand for fresh produce. The session, sponsored by Olivia’s Organics, will discuss the future of e-commerce and how organic food producers can meet this demand through e-commerce, as well as the challenges of selling perishables directly to consumers.

As the industry continues to evolve, the Organic Produce Summit brings together buyers and suppliers from the fresh organic produce industry under one roof to network, learn and showcase innovative solutions from across North America and the world.

This year’s OPS will feature representatives from more than 300 retailers, including vice presidents, directors and other representatives from the agricultural purchasing industry.
