Hibbett uses Walmart GoLocal to ensure fast delivery

Walmart GoLocal continues to diversify its customer base and the types of products it serves, fulfilling millions of orders since its launch in 2021. The company works with retailers in more than 10 industries, and its partnerships with Hibbett As we read in the announcement, this means expansion in the “sports-inspired fashion space”.

Walmart GoLocal expanded access to its services on Salesforce Commerce Cloud last year, making it easier for retailers like Hibbett to use the delivery service. It also helps Walmart GoLocal stand out in a crowded field of alternatives to FedEx and UPS.

“The combined capabilities of Walmart GoLocal and Salesforce Commerce Cloud help customers like Hibbett achieve more seamless order fulfillment, get products to customers faster and improve last-mile efficiency so customers can get their products where they want, when they want” Michael Affronti, senior Salesforce vice president and general manager of Commerce Cloud, said in the release.

Hibbett also uses FedEx and the U.S. Postal Service for standard shipping methods, as well as DoorDash for two-day delivery, according to the clothing retailer’s website.

The partnership with Walmart GoLocal comes as Hibbett has made progress in reducing supply chain costs. The retailer saw a decline in transportation, shipping and logistics costs as a percentage of net sales in fiscal 2024, according to the earnings release.

“We are always looking for ways to improve this process, getting closer to the consumer in terms of delivery costs (and) of course, operating our distribution center faster and more efficiently,” Hibbett SVP and CFO Bob Volke said during the August earnings call.
