Rocket Healthcare has launched a specialist workforce management and communications app for care homes, social care and home care businesses. The Care Home app is now available to care businesses in the UK and Ireland

Building on its success in the health sector, and working with a growing number of NHS trusts, Rocket Healthcare has created a digital workforce management solution for the care sector, designed to streamline processes and improve efficiency. This will enable businesses to reduce the time spent on administration, enabling them to deliver better outcomes for the customers they care for.

Rocket Healthcare is a division of Mobile Rocket, a software development company based in the North East. Malcolm Brechin, Strategic Development Director, commented: “We have spent several years focused on delivering what the NHS Trust wanted from their products, providing not only a high-performance app but also the assurance of excellent customer service and support. We are now delighted to be able to offer our technology to the wider care sector. Working closely with a number of care businesses, we have created an app that provides all the functionality required, along with, of course, the support and training that Rocket Healthcare is renowned for.

The original Rocket Healthcare app was developed to provide a solution for NHS 0-19 services, connecting people in the community with the healthcare professionals and school nurses who support them. The combination of high quality, flexible technology with the training and aftercare provided by Rocket Healthcare has led to a growing client list of NHS Trusts across the UK, with over 100,000 people using it each week. The app is now being rolled out across other NHS service areas, as well as council-run family centres.

New tool proves useful in the care sector

New home care software offers a workforce management solution for residential homes, nursing homes and home care providers. The app is branded as a communications tool for individual companies, and Rocket Healthcare has partnered with several companies to deliver the highest quality services and features in the home care app.

Partnering with TrustID, the UK’s leading Certified Identity Service Provider (IDSP), the app provides cost-effective and simple ‘right to work’ checks. It also enables quick reference completion and securely stores completed information that only the company has access to. For new employees, the app provides rapid onboarding, e-induction packs, induction training and training videos, and enables legal digital signing of documents.

The CRM element of the software includes many of the required features, including shift and schedule management, leave and absence management. An integrated, purpose-built staff calendar reduces the need for spreadsheets, ensuring all team members know what is required of them, when and where. What’s more, the use of advanced geofencing technology means that employees can be automatically clocked in and timesheets are automatically updated when they use the app to log out.

With the Rocket Healthcare app, businesses can rest assured that their data is securely stored and that any required reporting is immediately available. The detailed data provided makes payroll easier, while also allowing businesses to better understand their employees’ workloads and help them develop future care strategies.

Important accreditations providing confidence to the care sector

To provide its customers with a first-class digital tool, Rocket Healthcare partners with 8Fold Governance to obtain and maintain all required clinical safety accreditations, employing a meticulous approach to information management and regulatory compliance at all times.

She has obtained and maintained the following accreditations:

  • DSPT – Data Security and Production Toolkit. This self-assessment tool allows an organization to measure its performance against the National Data Guardian’s ten security standards.
  • DCB0129 – Clinical Risk Management. This is proof of the clinical safety of Mobile Rocket.
  • DPIA – Data Protection Assessment. This assessment aims to identify risks arising during the processing of personal data.
