CMF Phone 1 Will Have Vertical Cameras, Here’s What Else to Expect

The CMF Phone 1 camera setup was officially revealed in a post on social media platform X, formerly Twitter. This launch will mark CMF’s entry into the competitive segment, leveraging Nothing’s innovative approach to consumer electronics.

As for the CMF Phone 1 camera design, the sensors will be arranged vertically at the back. This suggests that the brand is focusing on efficient use of space. The raised design, common in modern smartphones, is likely to house larger camera elements, which will improve image quality. Meanwhile, information about the CMF Phone 1 price was previously leaked by tipster Yogesh Brar. According to Brar, the price of the upcoming CMF phone, which includes discount offers from banks, will be below Rs 20,000.

CMF, a sub-brand of the London-based technology company, aims to bring new design and new features to the mid-range smartphone segment.

The launch of the CMF Buds Pro 2 and CMF Watch Pro 2 alongside the phone indicates a coordinated ecosystem approach, potentially offering seamless device integration.

As the official unveiling of the CMF Phone 1 approaches, we may see more teasers from Carl Pei’s company. Another CMF leak from Nothing shows that the screw on the back of the CMF Phone 1, previously shown in teasers, is indeed detachable.

The London-based consumer technology company is also set to launch a sleek SIM card removal tool that can also be used as a screwdriver.

Another teaser video suggests that the CMF Phone 1 will have removable backplates, allowing for greater customization. The Nothing Community member even mentions the possibility of 3D printing custom backplates for the device in the video.

Meanwhile, Nothing has scheduled its next Community Update event for July 8 at 10am UK time, which is 2.30pm Indian time. At the event, the company will announce the launch of the CMF Phone 1, marking the debut of its first smartphone under the CMF brand. Additionally, Nothing will launch the second generation of its CMF Buds Pro and Watch Pro alongside the CMF Phone 1. The new smartphone will be launched under the CMF by Nothing brand.

The CMF Phone 1 is said to be moving away from its traditional Glyph interface, opting instead for a new volume-wheel-like button on the back of the phone. The Nothing Phone 2a has also reduced the number of Glyph lights on the back of the phone.

Details of the button’s specific functions remain undisclosed, leaving questions as to whether it will be purely for aesthetic purposes or offer additional capabilities. However, there is no indication that the CMF Phone 1 may offer distinctive features designed to stand out from the competition.
