Stock Market Sectors: Stock Market Update: FMCG Stocks Rise as Market Gains

NEW DELHI: Shares of consumer discretionary stocks were trading higher at 9:59 am on Tuesday, with top gainers being LT Foods Ltd. (up 9.61%), Heritage Foods Ltd. (up 4.57%), ADF Foods Ltd. (up 3.91%), Emami Ltd. (up 3.71%), Nakoda Group Of Industries Ltd. (up 2.58%), Parag Milk Foods Ltd. (up 2.24%), Dangee Dums Ltd. (up 2.07%), Zydus Wellness Ltd. (up 1.83%), Bajaj Consumer Care Ltd. (up 1.41%) and Varun Beverages Ltd. (up 1.27%).

Top losers included JHS Svendgaard Laboratories Ltd. (down 2.00%), Godrej Consumer Products Ltd. (down 1.94%), Sheetal Cool Products Ltd. (down 1.66%), Mrs. Bectors Food Specialities Ltd. (down 1.20%), Dodla Dairy Ltd. (down 1.08%), Marico Ltd. (down 0.60%), Bikaji Foods International Ltd. (down 0.59%), Dabur India Ltd. (down 0.42%), Hindustan Unilever Ltd. (down 0.31%) and Jyothy Labs Ltd. (down 0.13%).

The NSE Nifty50 index was up 50.16 points at 24,370.7, while the 30-share BSE Sensex was up 199.45 points at 80,159.83 around 9:59 am.

Maruti Suzuki India Ltd. (up 4.76%), Adani Ports & Special Economic Zone Ltd. (up 1.34%), Titan Company Ltd. (up 1.28%), Cipla Ltd. (up 1.26%), Larsen & Toubro Ltd. (up 0.98%), Adani Enterprises Ltd. (up 0.97%), Britannia Industries Ltd. (up 0.81%), Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. (up 0.8%), Divi’s Laboratories Ltd. (up 0.69%) and Tata Steel Ltd. (up 0.67%) were among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.

On the other hand, Dr. Reddy’s Laboratories Ltd. (down 1.44%), UltraTech Cement Ltd. (down 0.54%), IndusInd Bank Ltd. (down 0.53%), Oil And Natural Gas Corporation Ltd. (down 0.47%), Shriram Finance Ltd. (down 0.46%), Reliance Industries Ltd. (down 0.44%), Axis Bank Ltd. (down 0.43%), Bajaj Finance Ltd. (down 0.38%), JSW Steel Ltd. (down 0.32%) and Tech Mahindra Ltd. (down 0.29%) were trading in the red.
