NEW DELHI: Energy stocks ended higher on Tuesday with CESC Ltd. (up 5.74%), Karma Energy Ltd. (up 5.00%), Energy Development Company Ltd. (up 5.00%), RattanIndia Power Ltd. (up 4.71%), Adani Power Ltd. (up 3.86%), GE Power India Ltd. (up 3.74%), Jaiprakash Power Ventures Ltd. (up 3.27%), Torrent Power Ltd. (up 3.08%), Kalpataru Projects International Ltd. (up 2.44%) and KPI Green Energy Ltd. (up 2.39%) leading gainers.

Top losers of the day included KKV Agro Powers Ltd. (down 5.00%), JSW Energy Ltd. (down 2.59%), GE T&D India Ltd. (down 2.39%), NLC India Ltd. (down 2.13%), Indowind Energy Ltd. (down 2.06%), Hitachi Energy India Ltd. (down 1.95%), Indo Tech Transformers Ltd. (down 1.94%), Gujarat Industries Power Company Ltd. (down 1.37%), Voltamp Transformers Ltd. (down 1.34%) and Reliance Power Ltd. (down 0.85%).

The NSE Nifty50 index ended the day up 112.66 points at 24,433.2, while the 30-share BSE Sensex closed 391.26 points higher at 80,351.64.

Maruti Suzuki India Ltd. (up 6.69%), Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. (up 2.61%), ITC Ltd. (up 2.03%), Divi’s Laboratories Ltd. (up 1.97%), Sun Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd. (up 1.87%), Titan Company Ltd. (up 1.87%), Britannia Industries Ltd. (up 1.81%), Cipla Ltd. (up 1.69%), Hero MotoCorp Ltd. (up 1.59%) and Eicher Motors Ltd. (up 1.57%) were among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.

On the other hand, Tata Consumer Products Ltd. (down 0.75%), Reliance Industries Ltd. (down 0.67%), Shriram Finance Ltd. (down 0.58%), Oil And Natural Gas Corporation Ltd. (down 0.57%), Bajaj Finance Ltd. (down 0.43%), JSW Steel Ltd. (down 0.42%), Kotak Mahindra Bank Ltd. (down 0.29%), Tata Steel Ltd. (down 0.28%), Infosys Ltd. (down 0.28%) and IndusInd Bank Ltd. (down 0.27%) ended in the red.
