NEW DELHI: Fertilizer stocks closed higher on Tuesday with Madras Fertilizers Ltd. (up 8.43%), National Fertilizers Ltd. (up 4.07%), Mangalore Chemicals & Fertilizers Ltd. (up 2.20%), Deepak Fertilisers & Petrochemicals Corporation Ltd. (up 1.37%), Rama Phosphates Ltd. (up 1.06%), Rashtriya Chemicals & Fertilizers Ltd. (up 1.05%), Madhya Bharat Agro Products Ltd. (up 0.66%), Zuari Agro Chemicals Ltd. (up 0.46%), Gujarat State Fertilizer & Chemicals Ltd. (up 0.29%) and Aries Agro Ltd. (up 0.07%) among the top gainers.

Chambal Fertilisers & Chemicals Ltd. (down 4.05%), Khaitan Chemicals & Fertilizers Ltd. (down 2.21%), Agro Phos India Ltd. (down 1.64%), Sikko Industries Ltd. (down 1.55%), Gujarat Narmada Valley Fertilizers & Chemicals Ltd. (down 1.34%), Paradeep Phosphates Ltd. (down 1.24%), Nagarjuna Fertilizers and Chemicals Ltd. (down 1.12%), Krishana Phoschem Ltd. (down 0.82%), The Fertilisers and Chemicals Travancore Ltd. (down 0.52%) and Southern Petrochemicals Industries Corporation Ltd. (down 0.52%) were among the top losers of the day.

The NSE Nifty50 index ended the day up 112.66 points at 24,433.2, while the 30-share BSE Sensex closed 391.26 points higher at 80,351.64.

Maruti Suzuki India Ltd. (up 6.69%), Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. (up 2.61%), ITC Ltd. (up 2.03%), Divi’s Laboratories Ltd. (up 1.97%), Sun Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd. (up 1.87%), Titan Company Ltd. (up 1.87%), Britannia Industries Ltd. (up 1.81%), Cipla Ltd. (up 1.69%), Hero MotoCorp Ltd. (up 1.59%) and Eicher Motors Ltd. (up 1.57%) were among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.

On the other hand, Tata Consumer Products Ltd. (down 0.75%), Reliance Industries Ltd. (down 0.67%), Shriram Finance Ltd. (down 0.58%), Oil And Natural Gas Corporation Ltd. (down 0.57%), Bajaj Finance Ltd. (down 0.43%), JSW Steel Ltd. (down 0.42%), Kotak Mahindra Bank Ltd. (down 0.29%), Tata Steel Ltd. (down 0.28%), Infosys Ltd. (down 0.28%) and IndusInd Bank Ltd. (down 0.27%) ended in the red.
