Stock Market Sectors: Stock Market Update: FMCG Stocks Down, Sensex Down

NEW DELHI: FMCG stocks were trading at 10:55 am on Wednesday with top gainers being Honasa Consumer Ltd. (up 2.32%), Bikaji Foods International Ltd. (up 1.66%), Britannia Industries Ltd. (up 0.72%), Dodla Dairy Ltd. (up 0.38%), Procter & Gamble Hygiene & Healthcare Ltd. (up 0.16%), Godrej Consumer Products Ltd. (up 0.13%), Prataap Snacks Ltd. (up 0.12%) and Euro India Fresh Foods Ltd. (up 0.03%).

Top losers included Umang Dairies Ltd. (down 3.09%), Nakoda Group Of Industries Ltd. (down 2.46%), Vadilal Industries Ltd. (down 2.31%), Sheetal Cool Products Ltd. (down 2.31%), Dangee Dums Ltd. (down 2.06%), Mrs. Bectors Food Specialities Ltd. (down 1.86%), Hindustan Foods Ltd. (down 1.76%), Emami Ltd. (down 1.60%), Tasty Bite Eatables Ltd. (down 1.54%) and Jyothy Labs Ltd. (down 1.47%).

The NSE Nifty50 index fell 237.91 points to 24,195.3, while the 30-share BSE Sensex was down 802.45 points at 79,549.19 around 10:55 am.

Maruti Suzuki India Ltd. (up 1.14%), Britannia Industries Ltd. (up 0.77%), Apollo Hospitals Enterprise Ltd. (up 0.63%), Divi’s Laboratories Ltd. (up 0.46%), Titan Company Ltd. (up 0.1%) and Asian Paints Ltd. (up 0.04%) were among the top gainers on the Nifty.

On the other hand, Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. (down 6.63%), Shriram Finance Ltd. (down 2.6%), HCL Technologies Ltd. (down 2.37%), Hindalco Industries Ltd. (down 2.14%), Tata Steel Ltd. (down 2.04%), Tata Motors Ltd. (down 1.8%), Hero MotoCorp Ltd. (down 1.62%), UltraTech Cement Ltd. (down 1.52%), Reliance Industries Ltd. (down 1.51%) and State Bank of India (down 1.43%) were trading in the red.
