NEW DELHI: Sugar stocks were trading higher at 10:09 am on Friday, with Rana Sugars Ltd. (up 6.67%), Rajshree Sugars & Chemicals Ltd. (up 2.32%), EID Parry(India) Ltd. (up 1.75%), Kothari Sugars & Chemicals Ltd. (up 1.67%), Magadh Sugar & Energy Ltd. (up 1.28%), Shree Renuka Sugars Ltd. (up 1.23%), Triveni Engineering & Industries Ltd. (up 1.15%), DCM Shriram Industries Ltd. (up 1.14%), Dalmia Bharat Sugar and Industries Ltd. (up 1.08%) and Mawana Sugars Ltd. (up 1.05%) among the top gainers.

Top losers included KCP Sugar & Industries Corporation Ltd. (down 4.06%), Ponni Sugars(Erode) Ltd. (down 0.47%), Dwarikesh Sugar Industries Ltd. (down 0.44%) and KM Sugar Mills Ltd. (down 0.38%).

The NSE Nifty50 index was up 74.3 points at 24,390.25, while the 30-share BSE Sensex was up 153.17 points at 80,050.51 around 10:09 am.

Shriram Finance Ltd. (up 3.76%), Wipro Ltd. (up 3.28%), Tata Consultancy Services Ltd. (up 2.84%), LTIMindtree Ltd. (up 2.26%), Infosys Ltd. (up 1.99%), Axis Bank Ltd. (up 1.37%), Coal India Ltd. (up 1.25%), Tech Mahindra Ltd. (up 1.22%), Hero MotoCorp Ltd. (up 1.03%) and Oil And Natural Gas Corporation Ltd. (up 1.01%) were among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.

On the other hand, shares of Divi’s Laboratories Ltd. (down 1.61%), Maruti Suzuki India Ltd. (down 1.03%), Bharti Airtel Ltd. (down 0.98%), HDFC Life Insurance Company Ltd. (down 0.97%), Asian Paints Ltd. (down 0.64%), Sun Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd. (down 0.57%), Kotak Mahindra Bank Ltd. (down 0.57%), SBI Life Insurance Company Ltd. (down 0.57%), HDFC Bank Ltd. (down 0.38%) and Apollo Hospitals Enterprise Ltd. (down 0.36%) were trading in the red.
