Stock Market Sectors: Stock Market Update: Mining Stocks Rise as Sensex Rises

NEW DELHI: Mining stocks were trading at 10:29 am on Friday. Madhav Marbles & Granites Ltd. (up 4.91%), The Orissa Minerals Development Company Ltd. (up 2.00%), Coal India Ltd. (up 1.26%), KIOCL Ltd. (up 1.16%), NMDC Ltd. (up 0.94%), Aro Granite Industries Ltd. (up 0.71%), Ashapura Minechem Ltd. (up 0.56%), Lexus Granito(India) Ltd. (up 0.48%) and Sandur Manganese & Iron Ores Ltd. (up 0.07%) were among the top gainers.

Top losers included Oriental Trimex Ltd. (down 1.14%), 20 Microns Ltd. (down 1.06%), Pokarna Ltd. (down 0.81%), MOIL Ltd. (down 0.47%) and Gujarat Mineral Development Corporation Ltd. (down 0.16%).

The NSE Nifty50 index was up 59.35 points at 24,375.3, while the 30-share BSE Sensex was up 109.63 points at 80,006.97 around 10:29 am.

Shriram Finance Ltd. (up 3.35%), Wipro Ltd. (up 2.91%), Tata Consultancy Services Ltd. (up 2.87%), LTIMindtree Ltd. (up 2.05%), Axis Bank Ltd. (up 2.03%), Infosys Ltd. (up 1.66%), Oil And Natural Gas Corporation Ltd. (up 1.6%), Coal India Ltd. (up 1.27%), Tech Mahindra Ltd. (up 1.13%) and Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd. (up 0.87%) were among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.

On the other hand, Asian Paints Ltd. (down 1.43%), Divi’s Laboratories Ltd. (down 1.42%), Maruti Suzuki India Ltd. (down 1.15%), Bharti Airtel Ltd. (down 0.8%), Kotak Mahindra Bank Ltd. (down 0.74%), Apollo Hospitals Enterprise Ltd. (down 0.68%), Sun Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd. (down 0.56%), HDFC Bank Ltd. (down 0.46%), SBI Life Insurance Company Ltd. (down 0.44%) and Hindalco Industries Ltd. (down 0.33%) were trading in the red.
