Stock Market Sectors: Stock Market Update: Sugar Stocks Rise as Market Gains

NEW DELHI: Sugar stocks were trading higher at 10:49 am on Friday, with Rana Sugars Ltd. (up 5.66%), Ponni Sugars(Erode) Ltd. (up 2.98%), Triveni Engineering & Industries Ltd. (up 2.35%), EID Parry(India) Ltd. (up 1.81%), DCM Shriram Industries Ltd. (up 1.73%), Rajshree Sugars & Chemicals Ltd. (up 1.38%), Kothari Sugars & Chemicals Ltd. (up 1.22%), Mawana Sugars Ltd. (up 0.90%), Dalmia Bharat Sugar and Industries Ltd. (up 0.65%) and Balrampur Chini Mills Ltd. (up 0.42%) among the top gainers.

Top losers included KCP Sugar & Industries Corporation Ltd. (down 4.48%), Simbhaoli Sugars Ltd. (down 1.64%), KM Sugar Mills Ltd. (down 1.25%), Dwarikesh Sugar Industries Ltd. (down 0.74%), Bannari Amman Sugars Ltd. (down 0.36%) and Bajaj Hindusthan Sugar Ltd. (down 0.35%).

The NSE Nifty50 index was up 77.8 points at 24,393.75, while the 30-share BSE Sensex was up 165.9 points at 80,063.24 around 10:49 am.

Tata Consultancy Services Ltd. (up 3.93%), LTIMindtree Ltd. (up 3.74%), Wipro Ltd. (up 3.68%), Tech Mahindra Ltd. (up 2.53%), Shriram Finance Ltd. (up 2.38%), Infosys Ltd. (up 2.31%), Oil And Natural Gas Corporation Ltd. (up 2.04%), HCL Technologies Ltd. (up 1.86%), Axis Bank Ltd. (up 1.81%) and Coal India Ltd. (up 1.35%) were among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.

On the other hand, shares of Divi’s Laboratories Ltd. (down 1.72%), Maruti Suzuki India Ltd. (down 1.38%), Asian Paints Ltd. (down 1.23%), Kotak Mahindra Bank Ltd. (down 0.85%), Apollo Hospitals Enterprise Ltd. (down 0.8%), Sun Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd. (down 0.56%), Bharti Airtel Ltd. (down 0.51%), NTPC Ltd. (down 0.5%), HDFC Bank Ltd. (down 0.49%) and ICICI Bank Ltd. (down 0.35%) were trading in the red.
