Stock Market Sectors: Stock Market Update: Energy Stocks Fall, Sensex Rise

NEW DELHI: Energy stocks were trading lower at 10:50 am on Friday, with top gainers being India Power Corporation Ltd. (up 9.98%), Inox Wind Ltd. (up 9.08%), Inox Wind Energy Ltd. (up 5.00%), Karma Energy Ltd. (up 4.99%), Indo Tech Transformers Ltd. (up 4.86%), PTC India Ltd. (up 4.35%), Indowind Energy Ltd. (up 3.32%), Jyoti Structures Ltd. (up 3.11%), SJVN Ltd. (up 2.93%) and NHPC Ltd. (up 1.68%).

Top losers included GE Power India Ltd. (down 6.36%), Energy Development Company Ltd. (down 2.87%), Orient Green Power Company Ltd. (down 1.42%), NLC India Ltd. (down 1.23%), Torrent Power Ltd. (down 1.22%), RattanIndia Power Ltd. (down 1.03%), Gujarat Industries Power Company Ltd. (down 0.77%), Jaiprakash Power Ventures Ltd. (down 0.70%), Adani Power Ltd. (down 0.60%) and Voltamp Transformers Ltd. (down 0.60%).

The NSE Nifty50 index was up 77.8 points at 24,393.75, while the 30-share BSE Sensex was up 159.72 points at 80,057.06 around 10:50 am.

Tata Consultancy Services Ltd. (up 3.93%), LTIMindtree Ltd. (up 3.74%), Wipro Ltd. (up 3.68%), Tech Mahindra Ltd. (up 2.53%), Shriram Finance Ltd. (up 2.38%), Infosys Ltd. (up 2.31%), Oil And Natural Gas Corporation Ltd. (up 2.04%), HCL Technologies Ltd. (up 1.86%), Axis Bank Ltd. (up 1.81%) and Coal India Ltd. (up 1.35%) were among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.

On the other hand, shares of Divi’s Laboratories Ltd. (down 1.72%), Maruti Suzuki India Ltd. (down 1.38%), Asian Paints Ltd. (down 1.23%), Kotak Mahindra Bank Ltd. (down 0.85%), Apollo Hospitals Enterprise Ltd. (down 0.8%), Sun Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd. (down 0.56%), Bharti Airtel Ltd. (down 0.51%), NTPC Ltd. (down 0.5%), HDFC Bank Ltd. (down 0.49%) and ICICI Bank Ltd. (down 0.35%) were trading in the red.
