According to OvO insider Baby Sauce, who shared the insight on Chinese social media platform Weibo, he suggested that the ultra-wide cameras on both the iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max could have a 48MP sensor. This sensor is expected to be 1/2.55 inch in size with 0.7 µm pixel dimensions, which will provide more detailed images and an improved macro mode.

The tipster further suggested that the Apple iPhone 16 Pro may feature a 5x zoom camera, while the zoom feature on the iPhone 16 Pro Max is likely to remain the same as the iPhone 15 Pro Max. The iPhone 16 Pro Max’s main camera is said to be slightly improved with a custom 48MP 1/1.14-inch Sony IMX903 sensor, which is a slight improvement over the previous Sony IMX803 sensor.

Meanwhile, a recent leak suggests that Apple’s upcoming iPhone 16 series may undergo significant changes in design and display sizes. iPhone Pro models, namely the rumored iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max, could get larger displays, while the non-Pro models, iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus, could feature an entirely new camera setup.

If this speculation is true, it would mark a departure from Apple’s three-year streak of maintaining a consistent look and display across all of its phones. Additionally, reports suggest that the iPhone 16 series may feature capacitive buttons, further increasing expectations for this year’s lineup.

According to Sonny Dickson, a reliable tipster who recently shared a photo on X (formerly Twitter), the new design and display sizes of the upcoming iPhones have undergone major changes.

According to photos leaked by a tipster, the iPhone 16 Pro is said to have a 6.3-inch display, which is larger than the 6.1-inch display of the iPhone 15 Pro. Similarly, the iPhone 16 Pro Max is expected to have a larger 6.9-inch display compared to its predecessor’s 6.7-inch display. Meanwhile, according to reports, the standard iPhone 16 will retain a 6.1-inch display, while the iPhone 16 Plus is expected to retain the same 6.7-inch display as its previous model.

While the screen sizes of the iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus are expected to remain unchanged at 6.1 and 6.7 inches respectively, there are rumors pointing to a redesigned vertical camera array to make it easier to capture surround video. It is worth noting that starting with iPhone 13, Apple’s non-Pro iPhone models feature dual rear cameras arranged diagonally.
