List of updated devices

Samsung has released another major One UI 6.1 update for select Galaxy devices. Here’s the full list of updated phones and tablets.

What’s new in One UI 6.1?

One UI 6.1 is Samsung’s second update built on Android 14. Visually, there aren’t many changes, but there are some new features and improvements.

The big story is about Galaxy AI, Samsung’s suite of AI-enhanced features available throughout its software. Many of them work within Samsung apps, and Google Circle to Search is available with a simple long press on the home button or gesture bar. The full list of Galaxy AI features includes:

  • Circle to search
  • Chat assistant
  • Interpreter
  • Live translation
  • Attention Assistant
  • Transcription assistant
  • Browsing assistant
  • Generative editing
  • Edit suggestion
  • Instant slowdown
  • Generative wallpaper
  • Photo Ambience Wallpaper

However, some of these features vary by device. Photo Ambient Wallpaper is currently only available on the Galaxy S24 series, while Instant Slow-Mo is not supported on the Galaxy S23 FE. Similarly, the Galaxy S22 devices are missing several features, while the 2021 devices received virtually no AI features.

Other feature changes beyond AI include the removal of Samsung’s three-area gesture navigation, as well as a new “Battery Care” feature. They may be available on devices that do not support Galaxy AI features.

Will my Galaxy device get One UI 6.1?

Samsung has been quite vague about its plans for One UI 6.1. Since the update is not a major Android update, there is no roadmap. And with so much focus on artificial intelligence, questions have arisen as to whether it will even make it to older and cheaper devices.

However, it looks like Samsung is slowly working to introduce One UI 6.1 to virtually all of its lineup. “Flagship” devices of the last few generations will receive AI features, but other devices will only receive bug fixes and feature improvements in version 6.1.

If your Galaxy device has been updated to One UI 6.0 with Android 14, there is a good chance that it will receive One UI 6.1 in due course.
