NJ AG creates a special section dedicated to conducting antitrust activities

As New Jersey has become more actively involved in litigation against major players in a variety of industries over the past few years, New Jersey Attorney General Matthew J. Platkin announced the creation of a new antitrust section within the Law School aimed at better protecting consumers in the market.

Platkin said his office created the Antitrust Litigation and Competition Enforcement Section to protect the interests of New Jersey residents and support a fair and competitive marketplace. In 2022, Gov. Phil Murphy signed Act S-901, which amends the state’s antitrust statute and allows the attorney general to pursue bad actors and obtain redress at all levels of the supply chain, according to a statement from Platkin’s office.
