Features, specifications and more of the (expected) Oppo Reno 12 series

The Oppo Reno series is expected to be the first among Android smartphones to offer live photos with the ability to save in this mode. Previously, Android phones that supported Live Photos did not allow photos to be saved in this format.

Oppo Reno 12 will be equipped with a 6.7-inch OLED display with Full HD+ resolution. While photos are not yet available in the listing, the panel is expected to have slightly curved edges for easier handling. The phone is 7.25mm thick and weighs 179 grams, making it relatively light compared to many modern midrange devices weighing up to 200 grams.

Several reports suggest that the Oppo Reno 12 5G may be powered by the recently announced MediaTek Dimensity 8250 chipset, also known as Dimensity 8200 Star Speed Edition. Manufactured on TSMC’s 4nm process, this octa-core processor delivers exceptional performance with a configuration that includes the powerful Arm Cortex A78 core clocked at 3.1 GHz, three powerful Arm Cortex A78 cores running at 3.0 GHz, and four powerful Arm Cortex A55 cores cores operating at a frequency of 2.0 GHz.

Thanks to the on-board Mali-G610 MC6 GPU, the device is expected to deliver optimized performance.

Oppo Reno 12 Pro 5G is expected to revolutionize the gaming experience thanks to the Dimensity 9200+ Star Speed Edition chipset. Designed to enhance gaming performance, this chipset delivers immersive graphics, responsive touch controls, fast network connectivity, and longer battery life.

For photography enthusiasts, the Oppo Reno 12 Pro 5G could be a tempting option, with rumors pointing to a sophisticated camera system. This setup is said to feature a 50MP primary sensor, an 8MP ultra-wide-angle lens, and a 50MP telephoto lens on the rear, complemented by a 50MP high-resolution front camera for taking striking selfies and participating in clear video calls.
