Authority inspections find Greater Noida sectors in a mess

Based on the complaints, the concerned contractor was directed to prepare a schedule and ensure daily garbage collection and cleaning work, officials said.

During the inspection, residents of Beta 1 alleged that garbage collection vehicles did not regularly come to the area and cleaning was not carried out properly.

“The roads remain littered with garbage as the cleaning workers have not come here for two weeks. We kept raising this issue with the officials and now they have taken notice of it and inspected the area,” said Preeti Yadav, a resident of Beta 1.

Another resident, Neelam Yadav, said, “Garden waste is collected in corners and along roads. This situation is further distracted by stray dogs and cattle. The condition of residential areas is pathetic.”

Residents of Beta 2 also expressed similar concerns and said the area often lacks sanitation staff.

Active Citizens Group (NGO) member Harendra Bhati said, “As per the tender, sanitation workers are expected to vacuum/clean roads and pick up collected garbage every day. However, this is not followed. The competent contractor was summoned by the authority.”

Greater Noida government officials have assured residents of better services.

“The team concerned and the contractor have received the necessary instructions. Residents have been assured that the issues will be resolved and better services will be provided to them in the affected areas,” said Santosh Kumar, officer on special duty, health department.
