The Cutlass Solar 2 project is operating at full capacity

Bechtel’s built Cutlass Solar 2 project in Fort Bend, Texas, is generating power at full capacity, which the company says is ahead of its 13-month delivery schedule.

The 218 MW photovoltaic installation, delivered to Sabanci Climate Technologies, consists of approximately half a million solar panels and covers an area of 1,100 acres.

“We are thrilled to make the most of Cutlass Solar 2 to provide Texans with more renewable energy, support America’s energy transition and help achieve the Lone Star State’s goal of becoming the nation’s largest producer of solar energy,” says Bechtel’s Scott Austin.

“Bechtel is proud to partner with Sabanci Climate Technologies in their quest to provide greater availability of clean, renewable energy to Texas residents.”

The company added that the digital execution center used on site collected data directly from equipment in the field and fed it into an interactive map-based visualization.

Cutlass Solar 2 is the second solar facility built by Bechtel in Texas, which completed construction of the adjacent Cutlass Solar 1 plant in January 2023.
