Following the nomination made by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the Senate on Tuesday, May 22, 2024, at the National Assembly (NASS), Abuja, FCT, confirmed two nominations: Engr. Sunday Abraham Oshadami as Executive Commissioner for Technical Services; and Mrs. Rimini Haraya Makama, as Executive Commissioner for Stakeholder Management, Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC), respectively.

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu of GCFR had earlier presented a list of two new candidates to the Federal Legislature for screening and appointment as Executive Commissioners of the Commission.

ConsumerConnect reports that Senate President Godswill Akpabio presided over Tuesday’s session to confirm the appointments, and the lawmakers’ confirmation of Oshadami and Makama’s nominations as NCC Executive Commissioners followed the receipt and consideration of a report presented by Senator Bilbis Aliyu Ikra of the Committee on Communications in the Nigerian Senate.

Senator Bilbis in his report informed senators that his committee had vetted two candidates and found that they met the qualifications required for appointment as NCC Executive Commissioners.

Dr. Aminu Maida, Executive Vice Chairman and Chief Executive Officer (EVC/CEO) of NCC and other top officials of the Telecommunications Sector Regulatory Commission were present during the confirmation of Senate nominations.
