Stock Market Sectors: Stock Market Update: FMCG stocks fall as market rises

NEW DELHI: FMCG stocks closed higher on Thursday’s session.

Future Consumer Ltd. (up 4.35%), Adani Wilmar Ltd. (up 1.83%), Umang Dairies Ltd. (up 1.46%), Vadilal Industries Ltd. (up 1.37% ), Mrs. Bectors Food Specialties Ltd. (up 1.17%) %), Godrej Consumer Products Ltd. (up 1.11%), Dabur India Ltd. (up 1.08%), Emami Ltd. (up 1 .01%), Marico Ltd. (up 0.91%) and Nakoda Group Of Industries Ltd. (up 0.67%) were among those who gained the most.

Parag Milk Foods Ltd. (down 3.15%), Dangee Dums Ltd. (down 2.40%), Dodla Dairy Ltd. (down 2.18%), Jyothy Labs Ltd. (down 1.93 %), Honasa Consumer Ltd. (down 1.89%), Procter & Gamble Hygiene & Healthcare Ltd. (down 1.32%), Heritage Foods Ltd. (down 1.20%), JHS Svendgaard Laboratories Ltd . (down 1.11%), Prataap Snacks Ltd. (down 1.05%) and LT Foods Ltd. (down 0.87%) were among the biggest losers of the day.

The NSE Nifty50 index ended the session up 369.86 points at 22,967.65, while the 30-share BSE Sensex ended up 1,196.98 points at 75,418.04.

Adani Enterprises Ltd. (up 7.85%), Adani Ports & Special Economic Zone Ltd. (up 4.73%), Larsen & Toubro Ltd. (up 3.6%), Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. ( up 3.5%), Axis Bank Ltd. (up 3.49%), Eicher Motors Ltd. (up 3.36%), Maruti Suzuki India Ltd. (up 3.23%), Hero MotoCorp Ltd. (up 2.99%), UltraTech Cement Ltd. (up 2.79%) and Shriram Finance Ltd. .(up 2.73%) were among the top gainers in the Nifty pack. In turn, Sun Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd. (down by 2.88%), Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd. (down by 1.8%), Hindalco Industries Ltd. (down by 1.14%), Coal India Ltd. ( down 0.88%), NTPC Ltd. (down 0.42%) and Tata Consumer Products Ltd. (down 0.22%) closed in the red.
