NEW DELHI: Sugar shares closed higher during Thursday’s session.

Rana Sugars Ltd. (up 0.47%), Mawana Sugars Ltd. (up 0.37%), Kothari Sugars & Chemicals Ltd. (up 0.36%), Vishwaraj Sugar Industries Ltd. (up 0 .32%), Rajshree Sugars & Chemicals Ltd. (Among the top gainers were Balrampur Chini Mills Ltd. (up 0.16%).

KM Sugar Mills Ltd. (down 2.71%), Magadh Sugar & Energy Ltd. (down 2.01%), KCP Sugar & Industries Corporation Ltd. (down 1.66%), Triveni Engineering & Industries Ltd . (down 1.39%), Sakthi Sugars Ltd. (down 1.32%), Avadh Sugar & Energy Ltd. (down 1.21%), Bannari Amman Sugars Ltd. (down 0.67% ), Uttam Sugar Mills Ltd. (down 0.52%), Bajaj Hindusthan Sugar Ltd. (down 0.47%) and Dwawarikesh Sugar Industries Ltd. (down 0.43%) were among the top losers day.

The NSE Nifty50 index ended the session up 369.86 points at 22,967.65, while the 30-share BSE Sensex ended up 1,196.98 points at 75,418.04.

Adani Enterprises Ltd. (up 7.85%), Adani Ports & Special Economic Zone Ltd. (up 4.73%), Larsen & Toubro Ltd. (up 3.6%), Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. ( up 3.5%), Axis Bank Ltd. (up 3.49%), Eicher Motors Ltd. (up 3.36%), Maruti Suzuki India Ltd. (up 3.23%), Hero MotoCorp Ltd. (up 2.99%), UltraTech Cement Ltd. (up 2.79%) and Shriram Finance Ltd. .(up 2.73%) were among the top gainers in the Nifty pack. In turn, Sun Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd. (down by 2.88%), Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd. (down by 1.8%), Hindalco Industries Ltd. (down by 1.14%), Coal India Ltd. ( down 0.88%), NTPC Ltd. (down 0.42%) and Tata Consumer Products Ltd. (down 0.22%) closed in the red.
