The moves will see Hanna Kam assume the role of chief risk officer and Jason Howes will be promoted to chief transformation officer.

Both appointees will take up their new positions on June 1, 2024 and will report to Colm Holmes, CEO of Allianz Holdings.

“This is a key and exciting time for us as we align our businesses to deliver the combined strength of one Allianz and work towards becoming the UK’s leading general insurer,” he said.

“These two senior leaders play extremely important roles and will help drive our strategic momentum for growth.”

Experience

Kam brings 25 years of global experience in the insurance industry to this position, having held various senior management positions in risk management.

Most recently, she was Group Risk Director at Hiscox, where she was responsible for enterprise risk management and compliance.

Kam replaces John Berry, who has decided to step down after 10 years at Allianz.

Holmes said: “I am delighted that Hanna is joining us. He brings extensive experience in the global insurance industry and a compelling combination of governance, risk and regulatory knowledge.

“He has a track record of strong leadership and specializes in delivering change and achieving results in complex environments. Her insights will be invaluable in supporting the company’s overall growth strategy.”

Meanwhile, Howes spent more than two decades at Allianz and was most recently director of business transformation.

In his new position, he will oversee all large-scale change projects and initiatives across the Allianz UK business.

“It is imperative that we continue to successfully manage large change projects, which is why we have created a new role of Chief Transformation Officer, to which I am delighted to welcome Jason,” said Holmes.

“He has achieved a lot at Allianz and I am sure he will continue to do so.”
