Google signs contracts for Japanese photovoltaic farms that will power data centers

TOKYO — Google has reached an agreement with Japanese renewable energy providers that will build solar farms designed to supply electricity to the company’s data centers in Japan, Nikkei has learned.

Google recently signed corporate power purchase agreements with Clean Energy Connect (CEC) and Shizen Energy, marking the first time the company has signed such agreements on Japanese soil.
