Home Depot teams with Instacart to strengthen e-commerce offerings

Home warehouse cooperated with Instacart offering customers same-day delivery of home improvement products.

The Cooperation It offers delivery in as little as an hour from nearly 2,000 stores, according to a Thursday (May 23) press release. This comes as Home Depot deals with a decline in consumer spending.

“Our brick-and-mortar stores are the backbone of The Home Depot, and expanding our e-commerce capabilities is a key part of our ongoing efforts to provide a seamless, interconnected experience.” Jordan Broggie, president of the retailer’s online division, said in a release. “By complementing our existing same-day and next-day delivery options on homedepot.com with the fast and convenient Instacart shopping experience, we add flexibility to meet our customers no matter how they choose to shop.”

The partnership follows a pilot with Instacart earlier this year, and the program is now being expanded nationwide, the release said. The service also uses “Instacart”Big and bulky” logistics solution that offers delivery of heavy items weighing up to 60 pounds (which in this case means things like large boxes, grills AND ladders).

Earlier this month, the company announced earnings showing that its “Pro” business for construction and renovation contractors is outperforming consumer website of your business.

Instacart’s partnership with Home Depot is the latest example of a delivery service that is evolving from the grocery space and expanding beyond its roots.

Also this month, Instacart partnered with UberEatsenabling its customers to place orders from various restaurants on the platform through the new “Restaurants”, available in the Uber Eats app.

I saw it this week DoorDash expand its 3-year cooperation with Ultra beautynow offering on-demand and same-day delivery Cosmetics in all 50 states.

Many shoppers want their restaurant and grocery needs met with one unified solution digital platform that deals with a wider range of their daily activities.

PYMNTS Intelligence TestingConsumer interest in everyday applications” showed that 35% of consumers showed a high demand for this type of platform. Of these, 69% would like to shop for groceries using such an app, and 65% would like to shop at restaurants.
