NYRA publishes rules for Belmont racing enthusiasts at Saratoga

The New York Racing Association has released rules for the upcoming Belmont Stakes Racing Festival at Saratoga Race Course.

The festival will be largely cashless; NYRA says cash will not be accepted at the event “for food and beverage purchases, admission, parking or programs (except at the Saratoga Official Store).”

Fans may bring one foldable chair and one 12-by-18-inch cooler for food and non-alcoholic beverages, but tables, tents, carts or alcohol may not be brought. Re-entry will also not be permitted on the course and professional photography/video equipment is also prohibited.

Free backyard picnic tables will be available on a first-come, first-served basis; they can be secured at 9 a.m. on Belmont Stakes day; 11:00 on Thursday and Sunday of the festival; and 10:30 a.m. Friday.

The 2024 Belmont Stakes Racing Festival will take place for the first time this year at Saratoga Race Course on June 6-9, and the 156th running of the Belmont Stakes – the third leg of the Triple Crown – will sell out on Saturday, June 8.
