Most combat clashes were recorded in the Kupiansk and Pokrovsk sectors

“About 139 combat encounters occurred in the last 24 hours. This is slightly less than a week ago,” Lykhovii said.

According to him, yesterday the enemy hit the positions of Ukrainian soldiers and Ukrainian towns and villages with six missile attacks using seven rockets, 49 airstrikes using 70 guided aerial bombs and over 370 kamikaze drone attacks using Shaheds, Lancets and FPVs.

“The Russians also conducted over 3,200 shelling attacks, including 164 using multiple rocket launchers,” Lykhowii said.

He stated that during the last day the enemy carried out airstrikes near the settlements of Lyptsi, Vovchansk and Starytsia in the Kharkiv Oblast, Serhiivka and Tverdokhlibov in the Luhansk Oblast, Chasiv Yar, Oleksandropil, Kalynove, Novoselivka Persha, Makarivka, Yasnobrodivka, Siversk, Deliivka, Hryhorivka, Pivnichne and Druzhba in the Donetsk Oblast, Novoandriivka and Vozdvyzhivka in the Zaporizhia Oblast, Tiahynka, Inhulivka and Tokarivka in the Kherson Oblast, and Ochakiv, Shchaslyve and Petrivka in the Mykolaiv Oblast.

“Unfortunately, Russian terrorist attacks result in dead and injured civilians,” he said.

Lykhov said that on May 22, eleven combat clashes were recorded on the Kharkiv front.

He noted that over the last day the enemy had lost over 180 people in this section, of which 46 were killed in action, as well as 54 pieces of weapons and military equipment.

“In particular, two artillery systems were destroyed and five artillery systems were damaged, 14 operational-tactical level UAVs were destroyed, 11 vehicles and 3 pieces of enemy special equipment were destroyed. One tank, one air defense system and 17 vehicles were also damaged. In addition, a Russian ammunition depot was hit in the northern Kharkiv region,” he said.

According to him, the number of combat clashes in the Kupyansk sector has increased to 34 in the last 34 hours. “It is relatively the warmest here,” he said.

Lykhowii said that Ukrainian forces successfully repelled enemy attacks near Synkovka and Berestov in the Kharkiv Oblast, and Stelmachivka, Nevsky, Makiivka and Hrekivka in the Luhansk Oblast.

In the Lyman area, the enemy made seven unsuccessful attempts to break through the Ukrainian defenses near Torske and Terna in the Donetsk Oblast.

In the Siversk area, Ukrainian forces repelled ten Russian attacks near Bilohorivka in the Luhansk Oblast and Verkhnyokamiansko and Vyimka in the Donetsk Oblast.

In the Kramatorsk area, the enemy made 11 unsuccessful attempts to break through the defenses of Ukrainian forces outside the settlements of Khasów Yar, Nowy, Ivanivskie, Kliszczejewka and Andriivka.

In the Pokrovsk area, Ukrainian defenders repelled 32 Russian attacks in the vicinity of Yevhenivka, Umansky, Kalynov, Novoselivka Persha, Sokil, Solovyov, Novooleksandrivka and Prohres, where the enemy, with the support of aviation, tried to displace Ukrainian units from their positions.

In the Kurakhov area, Ukrainian forces continued to repulse the occupiers in the vicinity of Krasnohorivka, Novomychailovka, Paraskoviivka, Heorhiivka and Kostiantynivka, where the enemy tried to break through the defenses of Ukrainian forces 18 times during the day.

In the Vremivka area, the enemy made one unsuccessful attempt to break through the Ukrainian defenses near Staromyorski in the Donetsk Oblast.

In the Dnieper section, the enemy tried to displace Ukrainian units from the bridgeheads on the left bank of the Dnieper.

“In the last day, he (the enemy) launched nine useless attacks on Defense Force positions here. At the same time, our soldiers continue to actively cause losses in manpower and equipment of the invaders, exhausting the enemy along the entire line of contact,” he said.

Over the past day, Ukrainian forces attacked four areas where Russian military personnel were stationed and two of their command posts.

“Over the last day, the Ukrainian Air Force and missile and artillery forces hit four concentration areas of Moscow personnel, two of their command posts, two UAV control posts, one electronic warfare station and one air defense system,” Lykhovii said.
