Attorney General Ellison Joins Antitrust Lawsuit Against Live Nation

ST. PAUL, Minn. (KVRR/FOX) — Minnesota Attorney General Keith Ellison has joined 30 other attorneys general in fighting the costs of live performances.

Attorney General Ellison said: “One of the main drivers of inflation in this country is corporate greed and illegal behavior, with Live Nation and Ticketmaster being prime examples.”

The Department of Justice announces that it has filed an antitrust lawsuit against Live Nation, the parent company of Ticketmaster.

At a press conference with Attorney General Merrick Garland, the Justice Department accused the world’s largest concert promoter and ticketing company of illegally maintaining a monopoly, resulting in higher prices.

The lawsuit follows a Department of Justice investigation into fan complaints, including the distribution of tickets for Taylor Swift’s 2022 Eras tour.

Live Nation and Ticketmaster deny accusations that they are a monopoly, citing increasing competition in online ticket sales.
