Tinubu announces key appointments

President Bola Tinubu approved the appointment of Engr. Chukwuemeka Woke was the Director General/Chief Executive Officer of the National Oil Spill Detection and Response Agency (NOSDRA).

The President, in a statement issued on Wednesday by his Media Adviser, Ajuri Ngelale, also approved the appointment of Dr. Adedeji Ashiru as the Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer of the Ogun-Osun River Basin Development Authority (OORBDA).

President Tinubu expects the new CEOs to delegate their powers to these key agencies for sustainable gains and improvement, while maintaining maximum transparency in their activities.

Woke, apart from being an engineer, is an environmental professional and politician who holds a bachelor’s degree in chemical/petrochemical engineering and worked in the environmental, safety and operations departments of the then Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC).

He was the Chairman of Emohua Local Government Area of Rivers State and Chief of Staff of the Port Harcourt Government House for many years.

Ashiru holds a PhD in Engineering from Common Wealth University in the UK and leads a consortium of major companies and has achieved many awards in his professional career.
