Sonos heard the music: VoiceOver improvements, local playback and more, back to new app

This month, Sonos released a brand new version of its app. It also received a lot of criticism from users about missing features, broken VoiceOver for visually impaired users, and more. Now the company has admitted to some of the problems and has launched the latest update with fixes.

Initially, Sonos responded to criticism about the revamped app by saying it took “courage” to create it.

But apart from the new user interface that many found unattractive and many missing features, there was also a big problem in the form of broken VoiceOver support for blind and visually impaired users.

Fortunately, Sonos responded quickly and rolled out an update on May 14 that brought back features such as alarms, support for VoiceOver working with individual app elements, and more bug fixes.

Today, Sonos took to social media to announce that it has rolled out another update with further improvements to VoiceOver and TalkBack, has restored local music library playback, and, most importantly, confirmed that it has “heard your feedback and is working quickly to improve your app experience.” “

Since Sonos is open to user feedback and making rapid improvements, we’ll likely see more releases to restore further functionality soon.

  • Fixed an issue with asking for local network permissions.
