Scanbox Entertainment has restructured its senior management team with multiple promotions and new hires

Scanbox Entertainment has finalized the restructuring of its senior management team, making a series of internal promotions and hiring a new employee.

Merete Martensen Christensen took over from Kim William Beich as acting chief operating officer (COO). Beich will remain with the company as director of acquisitions and special projects. Christensen will also retain her roles as theater director in Scandinavia and local theater director in Denmark. Christensen has been part of the management group since 2014 and joined Scanbox in 2011.

Elsewhere, Per Bergholdt Knudsen has joined Scanbox as the newly created Director of Sales and Purchasing. He will work closely with Torben Thorup Jørgensen, Chief Commercial Officer (CCO), taking over sales responsibilities and joining the acquisitions team at Scanbox Entertainment. Knudsen is a senior director of sales and acquisitions who started as a film buyer in TV2’s acquisitions department and worked there for five years, buying films and series for all TV2 channels. Then in 2011, Per joined Nordisk Film, where he was responsible for selling films and series to TV stations and streamers throughout Scandinavia.

As a result of the recent change in management, Rasmus Truelsen, a long-time Scanbox employee and former marketing manager in Denmark, has been promoted to the position of marketing manager in the Nordics.

“Scanbox is entering its most significant change in the last decade, and with it some big challenges lie ahead. Our goal is to find the best team that will enable us to achieve our goals and grow,” said Thor Sigurjonsson, CEO of Scanbox Entertainment. “With new changes to our internal team and the hiring of Per, we believe we are in an excellent position to address these challenges.”

Scanbox Entertainment’s slate of upcoming theatrical releases includes international films such as Celine Song Past lives AND Civil War from A24, Back to black from Studio Canal i Killer from AGC Studios. Upcoming local films include: Rome by Niclas Bendixen, Kalak by Isabella Eklöf i Film storyteller by Lone Scherfig.
