Sector Update: Finance – TradingView News

Financial stocks fell Thursday afternoon, with the NYSE Financial Index and the Financial Select Sector SPDR Fund (XLF) each losing 1.5%.

The Philadelphia Housing Index fell 1.2% and the Real Estate Select Sector SPDR Fund (XLRE) fell 1.8%.

Bitcoin (BTC/USD) fell 2.6% to $67,284 and the 10-year U.S. Treasury yield rose 4 basis points to 4.48%.

On economic news, U.S. jobless claims fell to 215,000 in the jobs survey week ended May 18 from an upwardly revised level of 223,000 in the previous week, compared with expectations for a slight decline to 220,000 in a survey of analysts compiled by Bloomberg.

S&P Global’s May flash reading of manufacturing conditions rose to 50.9 from 50 in April, compared to 49.9 expected in a Bloomberg survey.

U.S. new home sales fell to an annual rate of 634,000 in April from a downwardly adjusted rate of 665,000 in March, compared with expectations of a rise to 678,000 in a Bloomberg survey.

In corporate news, Bowhead Specialty BNOD the company’s shares surged in Thursday’s debut on the New York Stock Exchange after the company priced an initial public offering of about 7.5 million shares at $17 each to raise $128 million. The company’s shares have increased by approximately 37% in recent trading.
