Full Circle Wind operates turbines on a Scottish wind farm

Full Circle Wind Services, an independent, multi-brand wind turbine services group, announced a new long-term service agreement with Zephyrus Green Energy with support from Green Cat Renewables. The contract will provide a full range of operations and maintenance (O&M) services for the recently installed and commissioned four Enercon E-70 turbines at the Strathallan Wind Farm Project in Perthshire, Scotland.

Once facility acceptance is complete, Full Circle will begin providing services in May 2024. Four Enercon E70 turbines were installed and commissioned by Business in Wind. Given the challenges posed by new onshore wind installations in the UK, it is becoming increasingly important to find innovative ways to deliver and sustain new generation of onshore wind energy.

More than three-quarters of the renewable electricity generated in Scotland in 2023 came from wind technologies. New figures for 2023 show Scotland still produces more electricity than it consumes, with net exports to other countries in the UK estimated at £1.5 billion.

“We are delighted to have been selected by Green Cat Renewables and Zephyrus Green Energy to operate the Enercon turbines at Strathallan. The new contract is another vote of confidence in Full Circle’s knowledge and professionalism in servicing and maintaining multiple brands. We look forward to working with Green Cat Renewables and Zephyrus Green Energy to keep their Strathallan Enercon turbines in optimal condition and support their energy contribution to Scotland’s energy grid,” said Billy Stevenson, CEO of Full Circle Wind Services.

“Strathallan is an exciting new product for Green Cat. In later phases, it is planned that the wind project will be connected to a photovoltaic farm and used for co-location of electrolytic hydrogen production. The use of co-located technology and the use of second-hand machinery are just some of the innovative ways we are responding to the changing needs and economics of Scotland’s energy industry. We look forward to a long-term, mutually beneficial partnership with Full Circle,” commented Gavin Catto, CEO of Green Cat Group.
