E-commerce platform Flipkart he adds Google as its investor. In a statement to Times Now Tech, the e-commerce giant confirmed, “As part of its latest financing round led by Walmart, Flipkart today announced that it will add Google as a minority investor, subject to regulatory and other customary approvals. by both sides.”

Google’s proposed investment and collaboration with Google Cloud will help Flipkart grow its business operations, the e-commerce platform added. This will also help accelerate the modernization of Flipkart’s digital infrastructure and enable Flipkart to provide better services to its customers across the country.

Google’s investment in Flipkart

Reports show that the technology company has invested around $350 million in the $950 million funding round of Flipkart, an Indian e-commerce company. Flipkart initiated this round of funding in December last year when Walmart, its parent company, contributed $600 million.

However, it should be noted that this is not Flipkart’s first collaboration with the tech giant. Google is the existing cloud service provider for Flipkart, alongside Flipkart’s internal cloud infrastructure and Microsoft’s Azure platform. In 2017, Microsoft reached an agreement with Flipkart to make Azure the exclusive public cloud platform for the e-commerce company. Microsoft also invested $200 million as part of this deal.
