HMD is quietly launching the HMD Aura smartphone in Australia for $179

HMD recently introduced the HMD Pulse+ Business Edition smartphone to global markets, which was launched with features aimed primarily at business purposes. Well, the company has now unveiled a new smartphone in the Australian market – HMD Aura, there has been no official announcement regarding the launch of this device nor has anything been revealed on the HMD Australia website.

However, the HMD Aura smartphone is currently available for sale through Australian retailer JB Hi-Fi. This smartphone is a mid-range device with very basic specifications.

The device has a 6.56-inch HD+ display with a 60 Hz refresh rate and is equipped with a selfie camera with a V-shaped cutout. It is powered by the Unisoc SC9863A1 processor, 4 GB RAM and 64 GB of internal memory. It runs on the Android 13 operating system and the company has promised to release 2 years of security patches.

The smartphone is powered by a 5,000 mAh battery that supports only 10 W charging. It includes a 13 MP rear main camera and a 5 MP front camera. Other features include a 3.4mm audio jack, Wi-Fi 4, Bluetooth 4.2, and a rear fingerprint scanner.

The smartphone was valued at $179. It is available in Glacier Green and Indigo Black colors. For now, this device is only available in Australia, but HMD may bring this latest device to other markets as well.
