(From the industry) Colm Larkin appointed CEO of IMIRT, the Irish Games Developers Association

IMIRT, the Irish gaming association, is delighted to announce the appointment of Colm Larkin as its new Chief Executive Officer (CEO). With an illustrious career in the games industry and a deep commitment to supporting the development of the Irish games development community, Colm brings a wealth of experience and passion to his new role.

As CEO, Colm will work to strengthen IMIRT’s role as a catalyst for collaboration, innovation and support in the Irish game development ecosystem. It will focus on expanding IMIRT’s membership base, increasing professional development opportunities and supporting the interests of Irish game developers, both on the national and international scene.

Colm is no stranger to the Irish game development scene, having run his own games studio, Gambrinous, for the past 10 years. With experience creating award-winning titles such as Guild of Dungeoneering, Colm has demonstrated his ability to navigate the intricacies of game development and entrepreneurship at all levels.

Maria O’Brien from the IMIRT Board says: “The IMIRT Board is very pleased to have someone of Colm’s caliber on board to lead IMIRT into the future. IMIRT as an organization has achieved as much as an institution run by volunteers. We are very excited to see how much more we can do with Colm at the helm.”

Colm Larkin added: “I am incredibly excited to lead IMIRT as its first CEO. Over the last decade, in addition to running my own studio, I have dedicated myself to supporting the Irish gaming community both in Ireland and abroad. I can’t wait to take this to the next level with IMIRT.

As Ireland’s representative body for gaming, IMIRT has achieved much in supporting the Irish industry over the last decade, including the new Digital Games Tax Relief (Section 481A). With the appointment of our new CEO, IMIRT will lead the way for all sectors of the digital gaming industry in Ireland. Colm will start as CEO in June.
