Google is banking on Flipkart’s fundraising to buy a stake in the e-commerce giant

Major internet company Walmart has proposed investing in e-commerce company Flipkart to buy a minority stake in the company’s new round of financing, the Walmart group company said on Friday.

“As part of the latest round of financing led by Walmart, Flipkart today announced that it will add Google as a minority investor, subject to regulatory and other customary approvals from both parties,” Flipkart said in a statement.

The tech titan will reportedly invest $300-350 million in Flipkart.

With Google’s proposed cloud investment and partnership, Flipkart is poised to expand its operations and modernize its digital infrastructure, improving customer experience across the country.

“Google’s proposed investment and cloud collaboration will help Flipkart expand its business and accelerate the modernization of its digital infrastructure to serve customers across the country,” Flipkart said.
