Tongue River Reservoir has new camping rules this year – Sheridan Media

Tongue River Reservoir is nestled among the scenic red shale, juniper canyons, and open prairies of southeastern Montana. It is a very popular place among fishermen, recreation enthusiasts, vacationers and local history enthusiasts.

Appearing on Sheridan Media’s Public Pulse, Tongue River Reservoir State Park Ranger Spencer Morris informed campers about new regulations regarding camping available in the park.

Due to complications in the past with access to electricity for campsites, Montana State Parks management has written and implemented a reservation policy for these specific sites.

Morris said that before the policy was implemented, park rangers had no official regulations to refer to in the event of a dispute over the use of a particular campsite.

Due to the popularity of camping in the area, officials also had to put a limit on the number of days campers could stay at a particular location.
