The government is changing regulations regarding medical marijuana

The Cabinet of Ministers excluded cannabis, its oils and extracts from the official list of prohibited substances, announced the Ministry of Health of Ukraine on May 24.

Additionally, tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) has been removed from the list of dangerous psychotropic substances whose trade is prohibited. THC is now on the list of restricted drugs. Its use is permitted for educational, scientific and technical purposes, including the production of narcotic drugs, psychotropic substances and pharmaceuticals for future medical applications.

According to the ministry, an appropriate decree is the key to implementing the recently adopted law legalizing medical marijuana.

The decree specifies that Ukraine will allow the cultivation of cannabis, in particular for medical purposes, although it will remain regulated.
