The Ministry of Labor is completing training qualifying disabled people to work in the private sector

Doha, Qatar: The Qualification Skills Development Department of the Ministry of Labor has completed training on qualifying and developing the entrepreneurship potential of people with disabilities, which was organized in cooperation with the Qatar Career Development Center (QCDC) and under the Empower Skills Entrepreneurship Edition Program.

By providing demonstrations, practical applications and career guidance, the training course aims to empower people with disabilities, equip them with the skills necessary for entrepreneurship, help them turn innovative ideas into successful ventures, improve collaboration and communication between participants, mentors and industry experts and highlight talents and contributions of people with disabilities in promoting inclusion and diversity in entrepreneurship.

The training is part of the “Strengthen your capacity” program, which is part of the Ministry of Labor’s goal of improving the qualifications of the domestic workforce. This includes empowering people with disabilities, offering vocational training, helping to provide suitable jobs, promoting independence and facilitating their integration into the workforce of private sector companies and institutions. These efforts support the Third National Development Strategy’s goal of increasing Qatar’s representation in both the private and public sectors.

The Ministry of Labor and the Qatar Career Development Center (QCDC) recently concluded an agreement to provide vocational training to people with disabilities to facilitate their employment in various economic sectors.

Director of Skills Development at the Ministry of Labor, Abdulrahman Telfat, and Director of Vocational Programs and Services at QCDC, Saad Abdulla Al Kharji, presented certificates of recognition to participants who met the course requirements and standards.
