A Galway engineering company will create 20 new jobs after acquiring a long-established company

OMC Group has taken over one of Galway’s most established consulting engineering practices, revealing expansion plans and the creation of 20 new jobs.

Multidisciplinary consulting firm OMC Group has successfully completed the acquisition of James Roche Consulting Engineers, a leading consultancy engineering firm and a respected institution in Galway since the late 1970s.

The company was founded in Clifden as Enda O’Malley and Associates and changed its name to OMC in 2023, marking its evolution and commitment to excellence and innovation in professional consulting engineer services.

The acquisition of James Roche Consulting Engineers is a significant addition to OMC’s portfolio, strengthening OMC’s position as a leader in the consulting engineering sector.

Now, OMC has announced plans to complete two additional acquisitions in 2024. Additionally, the company’s expansion efforts are expected to create 20 new jobs nationwide.

With an in-house team of 18 dedicated specialists, OMC’s core activities include a diverse range of residential and commercial projects, providing services in the areas of planning consultancy, environmental consultancy, structural design, building surveying, site mapping, assigned certifications, fire and disability consultancy, mechanical and electrical, energy consulting, occupational health and safety consulting.

OMC has offices in Clifden, Galway City and Dublin and oversees projects throughout Ireland.
