Skadden adds Sebastian Barling, a financial institution regulation lawyer, to London

Skadden is pleased to announce that Sebastian Barling has joined the Firm as a partner in the Financial Institutions Regulatory Group based in London. Mr Barling will advise financial institutions on UK and EU financial regulation in relation to complex regulatory and legislative developments. In addition to advising on the regulatory aspects of M&A transactions in the financial services sector, Mr. Barling will advise investment funds, private equity funds, insurers and banks on regulatory matters.

Mr Barling has extensive experience in the development, implementation and application of the Markets in Financial Instruments Directive (MiFID II) and the Alternative Investment Fund Managers Directive (AIFMD). He advises on applications to the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) and FCA and Prudential Regulatory Authority (PRA) regulatory and compliance procedures, as well as on a wide range of UK and EU ESG matters, governance arrangements and the creation of cross-border platforms.
