Braun and Marshall are introducing a bill aimed at reducing the burden on small businesses

Senators Mike Braun, M.D. Roger Marshall, Katie Britt, Ted Budd and Rick Scott introduced Small Business Regulatory Restrictions Act to protect small businesses from the financial burdens of top-down federal regulations.

Often, DC’s enforcement of regulations comes at a significant cost to our local businesses. In 2022 alone, compliance cost U.S. small businesses an average of $14,700 (adjusted for 2023 dollars) per employee on the payroll. The Small Business Regulatory Reductions Act alleviates these costs and requires the administration to submit an annual report to Congress showing the regulations’ impact on small businesses.

“For Main Street to thrive, we must ease burdensome regulations on small businesses. “I’m proud to join Senator Marshall on this bill to prevent big government from imposing regulations on America’s small businesses without cutting out red tape.”Senator Braun

“Washington’s top-down regulatory approach hurts our small businesses the most – the backbone of our economy. Main Street vendors are under constant attack under this administration’s onslaught of regulations and jumping through unnecessary and costly hoops to serve our communities. I’m proud to join Rep. Beth Van Duyne in fighting for this important legislation that addresses the concerns of our small businesses and stands up to the administration’s relentless attacks.Senator Marshall

“I’m proud to join my colleagues in introducing this commonsense legislation to ease the burden on small businesses that already have to contend with persistently high inflation on top of the Biden administration’s bureaucracy. From emerging entrepreneurs to established, family-owned shops on the main streets of our great state and nation, I will continue to fight tirelessly for small businesses and the families they support.”Senator Britt

“The SBA’s primary goal is to empower America’s small businesses, not to increase regulatory burdens. I’m proud to join Senator Marshall’s commonsense bill to control the regulatory state and help job creators serve their customers.”Senator Budd

This legislation builds on Trump administration policy that required the agency to repeal two regulations for each new regulation created. This successful policy was rescinded by the Biden administration in 2021.
